Living History

The 12th South Carolina/4th Michigan Volunteer Infantry Inc. is a 501(c) organization that was formed in 1988. Our goal has been to recreate an authentic Civil War Infantry company that portrays both Union and Confederate forces in the field, while enjoying the natural camaraderie we foster. The company actively participates in battle reenactments, living histories, preservation marches, school presentations, book talks, round tables, parades, and various other preservation efforts. Our main ambition is to educate the public and ourselves about the history and experience of the common soldier during our nations grandest conflict; while making it a very enjoyable experience along the way!
